US mayoral candidate survives assassination attempt
A US politician who is contending for the position of Mayor has survived an attempted assassination that was carried out in his office.
Craig Greenberg, a mayoral candidate for the state of Kentucky was shot on Monday, February 14 around 10:00 hours. He is running to be Louisville`s next democratic mayor.
The individual who shot Craig Greenberg has now been apprehended by the police. In a new tweet, Craig said he and his team were safe.
Reports from the Louisville police indicated that although the gunshots hit Mr. Greenberg`s clothing no one was hurt.
The police escorted several people out of the building unharmed including Greenberg.

"We consider ourselves very fortunate today," said Louisville police chief Erika Shields at a Monday afternoon, Feb 14 news conference.
According to the President of the local metro council David James, the shooting was aimed at killing Greenberg.
The attacks come just 30 days after Greenberg unveiled a plan to address crime, policing, and quality of life.
