20-year-old barber stabs and kills motorcycle rider in Bayelsa
Men of the Bayelsa police State Command have arrested one
Lucky Diri, who is a barbershop operator for allegedly stabbing a 38-year old
motorcycle Operator identified as Emeke Christain Udo to death.
Information gathered
indicated that the 20-year-old suspect stabbed the deceased with a screwdriver
because of a minor misunderstanding at the Sagbama community in Sagbama LGA of
Bayelsa state.
It was gathered that
the suspect engaged in an argument with the deceased in the early hours of
Thursday, January 6. It was during the argument that the suspect brought out a
screwdriver spanner and stabbed the deceased on his left rib.
Based on information
from sources within the community, the deceased was taken to the General hospital
in Sagbama for medical attention but he eventually died.

According to the daily trust, shortly after
the incident, a group of angry youths of the community took the corpse to the
police station in Sagbama before returning to the barber`s shop only to
discover that the suspect has fled the scene.
SP Asinim Butswat
who is the Spokesman of the command confirmed the incident and also said that detectives from the
command have already arrested the barber. She also said that the suspect was
already in police detention.
"The unfortunate incident occurred on 06 January 2022,
at Sagbama Community. One Lucky Diri ‘m’ 20 years, a Barber, allegedly stabbed
one Emeka Christian Udo ‘m’ 38 years, a motorcycle rider with a screwdriver on
his left ribs, over a minor misunderstanding," he stated.
"The injured victim was immediately rushed to Sagbama
General Hospital, where he died while receiving treatment. The suspect, Lucky
Diri, has been arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation
Department for further interrogation,” the PPRO added.
