18-year-old Nigerian Basketball Star Dies Of Heart Attack
Friends and family of Seyi
Awogbemi Sodiq are mourning his death after the basketball star died after
experiencing a heart attack.
Sodiq,
played for the Alba Fehervar men`s basketball team. He Died on Saturday Morning
November 19th In Abuja. He died just 7 days before his 19th
birthday.
The
club's website posted a memorial that reveals that the basketball player
arrived in Hungary at the age of 13 and stood on the local field with his
superb performances in junior championships. He made his debut for the Székesfehérvár-based club’s adult team at just the age of 16.

Information from Hungary today revealed that
Sodiq was diagnosed with a serious illness last autumn. After lots of debates
regarding how and where the treatment will be done, his parents advised that he
should not undergo the surgery in Hungary. He then returned to Abuja in
February.
He received traditional treatment back at
home and resumed basketball a few months ago with his former team in Abuja
while working on his return to Hungary. He had planned to return to Hungary to
continue playing for Alba.
Unfortunately,
his heart stopped and he passed away on Saturday Morning November 19, 2022.
Before
Saturdays Night`s league game, the young basketball player was remembered with
a minute silence.
