‘It wasn’t Meant To Cause Hardship’- President Buhari Apologizes Over Naira Redesign Policy
The president of Nigeria Muhamadu Buhari has
apologized to Nigerians over the Naira redesign policy stating that the aim of
the policy was not to cause hardship.
You will recall that the Governor of the
Central bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele in October 2022, announced the plan to
redesign the N200, N500, and N1000 notes. This new policy has resulted in untold
hardship for Nigerians as there is Naira
scarcity after the deadline to swap old naira notes for new ones expired in
February.
