Yobe Residents Commend Troops On Security, Economic Boost
Residents of
Yobe-State North-East Nigeria have commended the troops of the joint task force
Operation Handink Kai for making the Damaturu-Maiduguri road safe for travelers.
That route used to
be the epicenter of the nefarious activities of Boko Haram. According to locals
several passengers were either killed or kidnapped along that route.
The residents
disclosed this on Saturday during the luncheon the chief of Army staff (COAS) Major
General Taoreed Lagbaja had with the troops in Damaturu. According to locals,
the return of peace has boosted economic activities in the state.

The Damaturu –Maiduguri
Road is a major road linking Yobe and Boko-Haram has terrorized motorists along
that route for many years. Following the intervention by the military, the
route is now considered safe.
To Express his
appreciation for the hard work of the troops and to boost their morale, the
newly appointed chief of staff who was represented by the commander of sector
2, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja hosted the troops for a lunch

troops to continue their onslaught against Boko-Haram.
