Women Protest Incessant Disappearance of Children In Taraba Community
Life is no longer as it used to be normal in the Town of
Wukari in Wukari LGA of Taraba state. The daily reports of the disappearance of
children have become all but too common. All families with children have now
become extra vigilant because of the issue.
If not your neighbor's child, it will be a relative's child
or even your co-workers' child. Children just disappear with no possible explanation.
The women who can no
longer hold it have come out to stage a peaceful protest over this issue.
Reports reveal that about eight children have been reported missing in the
council area. At this time, there is no reasonable explanation for their
whereabouts.
During the peaceful
rally, Justin Ajifken spoke up saying that the area has witnessed rampant cases
of the disappearance of children. According to Ajifken, the missing children are
around the age range of six to seven years.
The aggrieved
mothers moved from street to street demanding the whereabouts of the eight
children. In expressing their annoyance, the mothers tasked the security agencies
to investigate the disappearance of the children and ensure the perpetrators are
brought to book.

and that was how the children got missing to date. We have reported the matter
to the police and Department of State Services but we have not heard from them
