Two injured as bus rams into moving train in Lagos

A disaster that could have led to the loss of lives was averted by the timely response of the Lagos State Emergency Response Agency. The Agency on Tuesday, May 10 swiftly responded to a train accident at the Ilupeju Bye-pass, Ilupeju Lagos State.

  When the Emergency Response Agency arrived at the scene, they observed a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number EKY 888 XW and a train collided at Ilupeju Bye-pass, Ilupeju.

 The accident was a result of reckless driving by the bus driver.

 Information gathered revealed that the driver of the bus refused to obey traffic officers who asked all vehicles to stop at the railway. It was his refusal that led to his ramming into the moving train.

 Fortunately, there were no lives were lost, but two adult males sustained injuries, and the Agency paramedics administered first aid to them before taking them to the hospital for further medical attention. 

 With the aid of the Agency`s light tow-truck, the bus was recovered and lifted to the Railway police station mushin.

 The rail track was restored to normalcy when the Nigerian Police force, Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps, and LATSMA responded to the scene.
