Suspect In The Killing Of Super Tv CEO Usifo Ataga Chidinma Has Pleaded Not Guilty
Chidinma who is a 21
years old student of the University of Lagos has pleaded not guilty as she
appeared before the high court in Lagos
on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

And another suspect Adebayo Quadri are facing an eight-count charge of murder,
stealing, and forgery among other charges. Following Miss Chidinma, Miss Quadiri also
pleaded not guilty.

Egbuchu who was also arraigned along with her also plead not guilty for
receiving the iPhone 7 of the late Mr. Ataga.
The proper trial
will begin on the 9th of October. The Lagos state government pressed
the eight-count charges against them of murder, stabbing, forgery, stealing
among others.
The director of
DPP Mrs. Olayinka Adeyemi told the court that the defendants conspired among
themselves to murder the deceased on July 15th, 2021. She further stated that the defendants
allegedly killed Mr. Usifo by stabbing him multiple times in the neck and chest
and that incident occurred at 19 Adewale Oshin Street Lekki Phase 1 Lagos.
DPP also accused the defendants of stealing two iPhones, one MacBook, and use Mr. Usifo ATM cards to withdraw a total of 380,000 Naira. That offense is punishable under the section 411, 233, 364 (2)b 280, 329 of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015.

HOW DID THE TRIAL GO
ON COURT TODAY
After the arraignment,
the court arena was set into confusion as to the prison warders who carried Chindima
and Quadiri were running away from a journalist who was trying to video them. She was hidden inside a room for about one
hour until many journalists have left before she was brought out of the courtroom
and brought into a waiting prison shuttle. Chidinma was wearing a face mask with a scarf
wrapped over her head.
It was gathered on
June 2021 that Chindiman Ojukwu is a suspect in the murder case of Mr. Usifo
Ataga after authorities found his corpse in a service apartment in the Lekki
area of Lagos. Authorities letter arrested Chindima on the 23rd of June
in her parent's apartment located in Yaba Lagos on the 23rd of June after
which she was paraded in the police headquarters Ikeja.
The deceased Mr Usifo
Ataga was hurried on the 30th of July in a private burial attended
by only his family members.
