Supernatural star Mark Sheppard, 59, suffers six ‘massive’ heart attacks

Supernatural star Mark Sheppard has revealed he suffered six ‘massive’ heart attacks.

The actor, 59, had to be resuscitated four times after collapsing in his kitchen.

Mark – known for playing the demon/King of Hell Crowley on Supernatural – has praised his wife, Sarah Louise Fudge, for saving his life, as well as the medical staff taking care of him.

Sharing an update to his 1.7million followers, the star posted a selfie from his hospital bed in which he wears several heart monitoring devices on his chest, amazingly still smiling slightly.

His caption began: ‘You’re not going to believe this!

‘Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen. Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead 4 times I apparently had a 100% blockage in my LAD.’

The left anterior descending artery (LAD) is the largest coronary artery and it carries almost 50% of the blood to the heart.

Mark added that he suffered a ‘widowmaker’.

‘Widowmaker’ is the colloquial term for the deadliest kind of heart attack which occurs when you have a full blockage in your heart’s biggest artery.

Mark continued: ‘If not for my wife, the @losangelesfiredepartment at Mulholland and the incredible staff @providencecalifornia St Joseph’s – I wouldn’t be writing this.’

‘My chances of survival were virtually nil,’ he confessed.

On how the near-death experience has affected him, he concluded: ‘I feel great. Humbled once more. Home tomorrow!’

Taking to the comments, his fans and famous pals were keen to wish him a speedy recovery.
