Seun Kuti Released On Bail


 

Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN) Suen Kuti`s Lawyer confirmed that he was released around 7.30 pm Tuesday.

 According to the lawyer, the singer met the bail conditions and was subsequently released.

They also added that they would appear at the magistrate court tomorrow 24-5-2023 for the proceeding that was adjourned today. The proceeding will be held in other to receive advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

 The Chief Magistrates Court sitting in the Yaba area of Lagos failed to sit in the case against Seun Kuti.

 Although no official reason was given as to why Magistrate Justice Adeola Olatubosun was absent from the hearing of the case, a source said she was away attending a conference.

  Seun was present at the magistrate court but upon learning that the magistrate did not show up, he was immediately sent to the police station at Panti.

 His lawyers followed him to the police station in other to arrange for his bail as the four additional days of remand granted by the court expires today.

A group who called themselves members of the “Free Seun Kuti campaign” staged a protest demanding the immediate release of the afro-beat singer.
