Settling N700 Dispute Leads To The Death Of A Man
Friends and family of Bamiduro Adewulo are in a bitter
mood as their 59-year-old brother and friend have been stoned to his death by
his assistant Fumilayo Asojo simply because he was setting a dispute over a debt
of N700.
Adewolu was settling a dispute between Asojo
and another man over N700 where he was stoned and sustained injuries. He was
rushed to the hospital where he died 48 hours later.
According to the information released to the
police by the brother of the deceased Adewole, Asojo struck a stone on the head
of his boss after he appealed to him to let go of the money. This ugly incident
occurred at Ute in Owo Local Government area of Ondo State.

He said;
“I did not believe it
until I saw Duro’s lifeless body at the mortuary.
“The accused was known all over the town to be the Personal
Assistant to the deceased.”

Mr. Asojo has now been arraigned on a one-count charge of murder, committing
the offense on December 28, 2022.
Presiding Magistrate, R.O Yakubu, did not take the
plea of the defendant over the offense which contravened sections 319 and 355
of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 37 Vol. II Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
Shortly
after remanding the defendant at Olokuta Correctional Centre, pending
advice from the DPP, Yakubu adjourned the case till March 19 for mention.
