Senior police officer arrested for allegedly burning his 66-year-old mother to death
ASP Edward Bua a
senior police officer has been arrested in connection with the Murder by arson
of his mother 66-year-old Nyakuni Margaret Onzia, in Uganda.
Before her death, the deceased was a Deputy
Director of the Uganda Nurses and midwife council. She reportedly died in a
fire at her home in Bugonga Entebbe Municipality in Wakiso District on
January 29.
Luke Owoyesigyire,
the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson confirmed the incident and
also said that Asp Bua who is 36 years old and also a lawyer by profession was
found with a matchbox.

"We have detained the officer at Entebbe Police Station
on charges of murder," Mr. Owoyesigyire said.
Ozia`s body has been
taken to the city mortuary for a post mortem. Police deputy spokesperson said they are still
investigating the motive behind the arson.
The colleagues of the deceased described her as a dedicated,
kind-hearted, and passionate leader in the fraternity.
