See why Singer R-Kelly May Spend The Rest Of His Life In Prison
On Monday, September 27th, 2021, a jury of seven
men and five women convicted the music star R-Kelly on nine-count charges which
include violations of the Mann Act as well as racketeering. The man`s Act
prohibits the transportation of any girl or woman across the state lines for an
immoral purpose.
After the 12
personnel jury deliberated for nine hours across two days, they reached a unanimous
verdict that the singer should spend the rest of his life behind bars.
According to Assistant
US attorney Maria Cruz Melendez, “this case is not about a celebrity who likes
to party a lot, This is the case of a predator”
This verdict in Brooklyn
comes in 2 years after Kelly was arrested in Chicago for numerous sex crimes in
2 different states.
Although his legal
team called in a handful of Kelly`s ex-employees and associates to take a
stand, their effort to discredit the allegations proved abortive.
Now the music star
R-kelly will spend the rest of his life in prison.
