Sadio Mane Has Stadium Named After Him For Helping Senegal Win First-Ever AFCON Title
As part of his contribution to the victory of the Senegal
National team in the just concluded African Cup of Nations, Sadio Mane has
received a huge reward.
The 29-year-old Liverpool
striker, converted the title-winning penalty as the Teranga lions defeated
Egypt in the Finals. During the Cameroon-based tournament, Sadio Mene scored
three goals and set up two more.
This is the first
time Senegal has won the AFCON title.
Sedhiou the Mayor of
his birthday has announced that the new football stadium of the town will bear
Mane`s name. The future Stade Sadio Mane
is currently under construction and is set to open next year.

Mayor Abdoulaye Diop declared: "Sadio Mane has honored
all of Senegal, the Sedhiou region, and the entire Casamance area.
"I have decided to name the Sedhiou stadium after him.
"In doing so I wish to convey the gratitude of all the
sons and daughters of the region towards him.
"He has made all of mankind aware of Bambali and
Sedhiou, the region's main town.
"This is a gift that Sadio Mane truly deserves."
