Invasion: Nigerian Volunteer ‘Fighters’ Besiege Ukraine Embassy in Abuja
Around 115
young Nigerians besieged the Ukrainian embassy in Abuja on Tuesday, March 1,
2022. These young Nigerians volunteered to join Ukraine in their fight against
the invasion of Russia.
We recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr
Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy accused the advancing Russian Army of killing
civilians. He also praised Ukrainians for displaying the courage to defend
themselves. President Zelensky called on anyone who wished to join the fight
against the Russian invasion to come and fight alongside the Ukrainians.

According to a Guardian report, the men who went
to the Embassy in the Nations capital also wrote down their names in a register
provided by the embassy.
The secondary secretary of the Ukrainian embassy
confirmed the development while journalists were barred from taking
photographs. The secretary added that no step had been taken to that
effect.
