Rivers United Face Enyimba In Federation Cup Battle Of Heavyweights


 Enyimba FC of Aba and Rivers United are the only Nigerian flag bearers in the African club competitions this year.

   The ‘Pride of Rivers’ will host Tanzania`s young Africans in the first leg clash of their CAF confederation fixture that will be held in Uyo on Sunday. A vintage preparatory match for the return leg in Dar es Salaam will be played between Enyimba FC and Rivers United.

   Draws were held inside the NFF Secretariat on Wednesday. In what has been regarded as a big game in the NPFL Akwa United FC was drawn to play Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.  Multi-title winners Rangers International of Enugu will take on Adamawa United FC.

  

Heartland FC of Owerri has been drawn to play Jedo FC of Sokoto while Kogi United squared up to Mailantarki FC of FCT.

   That same Wednesday, the women`s round of 16 fixtures were drawn with Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt up against Golden Sun of Bayelsa State and Naija Ratels of FCT to play Adamawa Queens.

   The round of 64 matches in the men`s competition and round of 32 matches in all women`s competitions are scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. The round of 32 matches has been scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 3 May 2023 while the round of 16 will hold on Wednesday, 10 May. Quarter-final matches will take place on Wednesday 17th May 2023.

  The semi-finals of both competitions are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 24 May with the Men`s and women's grand finale to hold on Saturday, 27 May.
