Rivers Police Launch A Manhunt After Gunmen Ambushed And killed a Policeman In Rivers State
Shock and despair filled
the air as an assistant superintendent of police was ambushed and killed by gunmen
in the Oyigbo local government area of Rivers state. Swinging into action immediately
the police launched a manhunt for the gunmen.
These gunmen attacked
the policeman on Wednesday, June 29 while he was returning home from work in the
Oyigbo area of rivers state.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the
spokesperson of the state police command confirmed the incident but also
disclosed that the state commissioner of Police Friday Eboka has ordered an
investigation into the incident with a view to unveiling the circumstances that
led to the attack as well as bringing the perpetrators to book.
Koko said-
“He was returning to his house after work around 9 pm or so
when they ambush him. We will ensure they are fished out.
“Already
the commissioner of police has ordered a full-scale investigation into the
incident to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to book.”
