Resident Doctors Suspend Strike
Good
news as the leadership of the Nigerian Association Of Resident Doctors (NARD)
suspended its one-week warning strike which started on Wednesday, May 17.
Dr. Emeka Orji, the president of the
association revealed that the association suspended the action for two weeks
after it reached some agreements with the government on Friday. He also said
that the doctors will meet again on June 2nd to review the progress
made on the agreement and decide what line of action the association will take
next.

On May 17,
the National Association Of Resident Doctors embarked on a five-day warning strike
to get its demands after the 14 days ultimatum to the government elapsed. Among
other things the doctors are demanding are the payment of salary arrears for
their members as well as the immediate infrastructural upgrade of public
hospitals.
