Quarrel Over Fish Leads To Untimely Death Of A Man
On October 1, 2022, Kenyan police officers arrested a 42-year-old
man named Nicholas Mwiti Nthiga who is accused of killing a 34-year-old
Geoffery Muriungi Makara Ntabuta Village Matakiri Location of Nkondi Ward, Tharaka Nithi county.
According to reports, Muriungi picked up a quarrel
with the accused over fish on September 30, 2022. It was gathered that the
deceased approached Mwiti who was selling fish and wanted to buy but he has no
money.

This led to a quarrel between them with
Muriungi vowing not to pay and even refusing help from well-wishers who offered
to pay for him. This action angered the suspect who violently picked up a cutlass
and attacked the victim with it.
The body of the deceased has been taken to the
Marimanti Hospital Mortuary while they are
waiting for an autopsy report. A weapon recovered from the Mwiti residence had
stains of blood on it.
