Police give N64m to families of policemen who died in active service
They are awake while
we are sleeping. They are awake so we can sleep with our both eyes closed. We
call them when we face threats from within. They hurry to our rescue no matter the
situation. If it's a bank robbery they are there, even though it's kidnappers,
they are always ready.
But in some cases, in
the process of fighting off these criminals, they lose their lives. Most of
them are family heads and breadwinners for their families. They sacrificed their
lives to protect the lives of other citizens.
To reward the hard
work of these men, especially those who lost their lives in the line of duty,
The Niger state police command, on Monday, June 6 provided monetary support to
30 families of policemen who died in active service between 2020-2021.

the Inspector General of Police for the laudable initiative as the cheque was
handed over to the next of kin of the fallen operatives. Encouragement was also given to the recipients
to use the money judiciously for the benefit of the family.
