Pipeline Surveillance Worker Murdered By Gunmen in Bayelsa
Gunmen in Bayelsa State south-south Nigeria have killed one
Mr. Indukakpo Ogede who
works at an indigenous pipeline surveillance firm.
Mr. Ogede was reportedly shot twice in a hotel
around Tamic Road in the Okutukutu area of Yenagoa on Sunday, July 10.
Reports from Punch
reveal that the gunmen entered the hotel and paid for three rooms when they
lurked around waiting for the right time to strike their target.
Sources
told the publication that after the gunmen were lodged, they went to the bar of
the hotel and drank beer while waiting for their victim who went out for an
assignment.

After
he returned at about 7.45 pm, the gunmen rushed towards him, and shot him twice
in his chest and lower abdomen, leaving him dead.
The
corpse of the deceased who is from Igbomotoru in the Southern Ijaw Local
Government Area of the state has been deposited at the Federal Medical
Centre in the state capital after he was confirmed dead in a nearby hospital he
was rushed to.
Asinim Butswat the spokesperson to the state police command confirmed the
incident but also added that the command has commenced an investigation into
the incident.
