Nnamdi Kanu Trails Adjourned Till November 10 And Will Remain In DSS Custody
On Thursday, October
21, 2021, a federal high court in Abuja rejected the request by the leader of
the proscribed Indigenous peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu to be moved from
DSS custody to Kuje Correctional Service center.
He also made a similar
request in July when he asked to be moved to prison citing that he had
experienced mental and psychological torture from the department of state
services.
Kanu's request has
been turned in for a record second time.
Of the seven-count
charge which included treasonable felony and terrorism preferred against him by
the federal government, Nnamdi Kanu however pleaded not guilty to all of these
charges.
His lead counsel Ifeanyi
Ejiofor asked the court to transfer him from the custody of the DSS to Kuje
prison. The presiding judge rejected that application and adjourned the case until
November 10.
