Man Demands N182,000 From Wife After Kidnapping Their 8-Year-Old Son
A step Father Kidnapped his 8-year-old
son in Kenya. But the detectives have rescued the young boy and reunited him
with his mother.
Nemwel Ondari who is the suspect kidnapped the
boy on Saturday Morning November 12. This was after a domestic disagreement
with his wife Everline Nandera.
The worried mother who could no longer hold
herself filed a report at the Embakasi police station at around 9: 30 am. This
report led to the arrest of the suspect.
The directorate of criminal investigations-
DCI released a statement that revealed that the suspect demanded and threatened
to kill the boy with a kitchen knife if the wife delayed any further.
"Nandera told detectives that she
had left their home in Embakasi’s Tel Aviv area at the crack of dawn, headed
for Muthurwa market," the statement read.
When she returned at about 9:20 am, her
husband and her son were nowhere to be found. She saw a note that had been left
behind by her husband Nemwel Ondari demanding a ransom of sh50,000 before the
boy will be released.
In the note, the man sounded a warning to his wife that he would kill
the boy with a kitchen knife if she tried any monkey business.

Immediately after the woman filled her
report at Embakasi police station, detectives from the elite Crime Research and
Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) based at DCI Nairobi area were assembled and a
manhunt for the suspect was launched.
The detectives assisted by their Emnakasi
counterparts traced the suspect and arrested him at NMS Green Park Matatu
terminus off Haile Sellasie avenue some hours later.
The detectives revealed that
the couple had a heated argument last night and after Everline left early in
the morning for Muthurwa to fend for her family. The man thereafter packed his
clothes and a kitchen knife in two bags before leaving with the boy.
The man was pounced upon by the detectives at
around 4 pm, as he was waiting for the ransom to be deposited into his Mpesa
account.
Mother and Child were reunited and the man was escorted to Embakasi
police station. He is currently cooling his heels waiting for his arraignment.
