Kumuyi charges leaders to prioritise Nigerians’ well-being, inspire change
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has urged leaders at all levels to make thoughtful and impactful decisions to address Nigerians’ challenges.
Kumuyi, who addressed the media ahead of the church’s Global December Retreat and Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) on Friday, stressed the importance of leaders fulfilling their promises and paying close attention to the concerns of the masses.
He said: “Leaders, whether at local, state, or federal levels, are elected to drive positive change. They are responsible for listening to the populace and creating thorough plans for national improvement.”
He also charged the leaders to implement strategies to bring about meaningful progress in all sectors.
The cleric expressed concerns about the limited participation of Christians in governance and urged them to take a more active role in politics and nation-building.
“Christians cannot complain about the direction of policies if they fail to participate in shaping them. Without believers in governance, those unfamiliar with Christian values will determine the country’s fate, including that of Christians,” Kumuyi warned.
The octogenarian encouraged Christians to lead with integrity and purpose, saying their faith and values could contribute significantly to the nation’s development.
“Christians should not only participate in politics but should also lead with integrity and purpose. Like Joseph in the Bible, they must hold on to their faith, make meaningful contributions, and fulfill the purpose of their roles in politics,” he added.
