International Judo Federation suspends Vladimir Putin as Honorary President
The president of Russia Vladimir Putin has been suspended as honorary president of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
The suspension was announced by IJF on sunday February 27. The suspension follows Russia`s invasion of Ukraine.

This suspension means one thing to Putin: He has temporarily lost his most senior official position in the world sport.
The statement posted by IJF online stated "In light of the ongoing war conflict in Ukraine, the International Judo Federation announces the suspension of Mr Vladimir Putin’s status as Honorary President and Ambassador of the International Judo Federation."
