Gov Ifeanyi Okowa Of Delta State Says PDP Is Ready To Rescue Nigeria
As the PDP convention is underway in Abuja the nation's capital,
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has high expectations that the Exercise will change the
country's political landscape. According to the Delta state governor, the PDP
convention is a signal to the Ruling APC that it is time up at the federal
level.
As far as the convention is concerned, only
two positions are up for contest Okowa
said. Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is the chairman Accreditation sub-committee of
the people democratic party, National convention. Gov Okowa stated that the planning and
outcome of the exercise will prove that the party is ready to take Nigeria out
of the numerous challenges they are facing.
Gov Okowa made these remarks during a meeting of the committee held at
the party national secretariat in Abuja.
Gov Okowa said:
“We are not expecting to have a contentious
convention because we are doing the best that we can within the leadership of
the party in trying to ensure that we limit the level of contests at the
convention. “The PDP believes in building consensus, so we are still talking
with the contestants and within the party, leadership to see how we can reduce
the contest and I believe that we will be able to agree as much as possible”
