FIFA approves Ademola Lookman nationality switch to Nigeria
Leicester City winger
Ademola Lookman has been approved by FIFA to change his Nationality to Nigeria
instead of England.
Lookman was part of
England team that won the under-20 world cup in 2007. He is currently on loan
at Leicester city from Leipzig. Lookman has not played for the England
senior team. He is a London native but was born to Nigerian parents.
Although Lookman has
never represented England's senior National team, he has played for the Under
-19, Under-20, and Under-21 England team.
According to
information from Associated Press, the switch was approved by FIFA on
February 10.

Tunde Adelakun the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF)
chief scout told BBC Sports Africa last November “We are aware of Lookman's
desire to play for us and I have spoken to him as well. However, there is a
process to it.”
“After this process, then comes the consideration and
decision of the head coach (Gernot Rohr) on whether or when he deems it fit to
get him involved.”
The super eagles of
Nigeria will soon Face the Black Stars of Ghana in a two-legged playoff in
other to qualify for the world cup in Qatar.
Just like his counterpart
Alex Iwobi who switched to Nigerian after representing England at the Junior
level in 2015, and Joe Aribo who grew up in Camberwell Ademola Lookman will
also switch his nationality.
The likes of Victor Moses, Shola Ameobi, Sone Aluko, Ola
Aina have all switched their nationalities to Nigeria.
