Electricity Workers Set To Begin Strike On Wednesday, August 17
Members of the organized Labor in the power sector have said
that they will down their tools and start an indefinite strike over unresolved
labor issues with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN. This is now leading
many to predict that the nation will soon experience a total blackout.
According to reports
from Vanguard, the aggrieved workers have agreed to picket the Abuja National
Headquarters of TCN on Tuesday, August 16.

Joe Ajaero, the
national secretary of NUEE sent a circular titled “Call for Action” to senior Assistant General Secretaries
and Zonal Organising Secretaries dated August 15, 2022, the Union
directed them to ensure total compliance with the strike.
