EFCC Allegedly Arrest Socialite Obi Cabana
The Economic and financial crimes commission EFCC has
allegedly arrested popular socialite and business tycoon Obinna Iyiegbu
popularly known as Obi Cubana.
According to Punch
Newspapers, the club owner arrived at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency
at Jabi Abuja at noon on Monday, November 1th 2021. The club owner is being interrogated by the
EFCC on allegations of money laundering and tax fraud.
“Obi Cubana
was arrested and brought to the EFCC headquarters on Monday afternoon over
allegations of money laundering and tax fraud. He is being grilled by
detectives as we speak.”
Obi Cubana made headlines in July when he
hosted a carnival-like funeral for his mother in Oba Anambra State which
featured a lavish display of wealth as well as the killing of over 200 cows.
