Ebonyi Council Chairmen Sacked By Court
A
federal high court sitting in Abakaliki the Ebonyi state capital has nullified
the Ebonyi Local government election.
The
court sacked the 117 ward Councillors that were and the 13 local government Chairman
that were elected on the same day. This is the second time the court is nullifying
the elections. It has on August 25 earlier nullified the council polls that
were done on May 31.

The judgment
was ruled by justice Fatun Riman on Friday, December 9. The justice ordered
that the monthly federal allocation of the chairmen be seized pending when the
rightful chief executives are elected into office.
Riman also
ruled that the state independent electoral commission (EBSIEC) carried out
illegal and unconstitutional council elections.
