District head shot dead inside Taraba mosque
A district head in
Taraba State has been identified as Alhaji Abdulkadir Maisamari has been killed by gunmen. The gunmen
launched an attack on the Mosque at Maisamari town in Sardauna LGA of the
state.
The district head was killed during Ishai
prayers on Monday night. Eyewitnesses who spoke with daily trust said that the
gunmen opened fire immediately after they stormed the mosque.
Reports indicate that residents confronted the
gunmen forcing them to flee into the mountainous region close to the town.

According to a resident named Musa Sale, no
resident was abducted and the district head who was killed has been buried
according to Islamic rites.
DSP Usman Abdullahi the spokesperson for the
Taraba police command confirmed the incident but did not give details.
This incidence is the third mosque that has
been attacked by gunmen in the last few weeks.
