Delta Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Mercilessly Flogging a 19-Month-Old Pupil Who Latter Died In The Hospital

  A Teacher identified as Emeka Nwogbo who is a staff of Arise and shine Nursery and Primary School located in Asaba the Delta State Capital has been arrested by the Delta state police command. He is being arrested over the death of a 19-month-old pupil simply identified as Obinna. 

 The teacher is alleged to have flogged the pupil mercilessly leaving several marks of the cane on the boy's body. 


 In a video shared by the victim's mother, the victim Obinna was seen in the hospital receiving treatment. 


   

“My son has not been himself since the incident, this is him on the hospital bed receiving drip after the incident in the school and up until now, the school has not called to know how he is faring or how it's going.” the distraught mum said

Sadly, the pupil who was receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Asaba kicked the bucket on Saturday 12 of February.

 While confirming the incident, and the death of the pupil, Edafe bright, the spokesperson of the delta state police command said:

“Yes, it’s true. The pupil died yesterday (Saturday) morning. We have arrested the teacher. He’s currently in our custody and the investigation into the matter continues. He would be charged to court as soon as possible'' 

 This incident is coming just two days after a pupil in Lagos state received 24 strokes of the cane just because he failed to recite the alphabet.
