Central African Republic defeats Super Eagles Of Nigeria 1-0 To Klintch Their First Ever victory In A Qualifying Match
According to
FIFA rankings CAR (Central African
Republic) holds the 120th position. Even with that low FIFA
rankings, their senior men's team was able to record a shocking 1-0 defeat of
the super eagles of Nigeria on Thursday, October 7th, 2021 in Lagos.
Although they have
ranked 90 places behind the super eagles of Nigeria, the late goal from the
Central African Republic following a poor miscalculation between defenders
William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun was all that was needed to claim a
victory. This mistake allowed Karl Namnganda to fire past super eagles
goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.
Throughout the game, the super eagles
dominated the game but they couldn`t penetrate the CAR defense line. The super
eagles could not record any shot on goal.
Although they dropped
pints in the lagos, the super eagles remain at the top of group C having six points in three games. The Central
African Republic on the other hand has four points same as cape Verde who also
beat Liberia away from home on Thursday.
