Army To Honour Ernest Shonekan With 21 Gun Salute
81 Division Nigerian Army has revealed that there will be a
21-artillery-gun salute that will be carried out in honor of the late Ernest
Shonekan.
Osaba Olaniyi, the
spokesperson of the division disclosed this on a signed statement. He also added
that the gun salute will be held on Friday, Feb 4 at Ebony vaults and garden
Ikoyi Lagos State.

Ernest Shonekan served
as a head of state for the interim National Government (ING) between August 26,
1993, to November 17, 1993. He passed away on 11 January 2022. He died at the
age of 85.
