Army probes ‘killing of driver by persons in military uniform’ in Lagos

The investigation is being performed in coordination with the police, according to Olabisi Ayeni, acting deputy director of army public relations, 81 Division, in a statement issued on Sunday.

"It is appropriate to bring the occurrence to public attention, as well as the steps taken to identify the alleged persons in military uniform believed to be soldiers, and bring them to justice if they truly are serving soldiers," according to the statement.

"The Division is currently conducting an investigation with the Nigerian Police Lagos State Command to determine the identities of the alleged suspects and the circumstances surrounding the alleged unfortunate incident."

He promised that if the suspects are identified, they will face the full fury of both military and civil laws.
