Alleged cyber-Crime – Trial Of Musician Naira Marley Stalled Over Failure Of Prosecution Witness To Appear In Court
Azeez Fashola who
goes by the stage name Naira Marley has had his alleged cybercrime trial
stalled on Tuesday, November 30 at the Federal High Court in Lagos as a result
of the absence of a witness for the anti-graft agency EFCC prosecuting the
case.
The prosecuting
counsel Rotimi Oyedepo told the court at the proceedings that the witness was
absent in court for “compassionate grounds” The case was subsequently adjourned
For cross-examination.
Naira Marley is been
prosecuted in court by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on 11
count charges bordering on Conspiracy and credit card fraud. When he was arraigned on May 20, 2019, he
pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
