17-year-old boy drowns in Kano pond
It is a sad day for residents of Wailari
Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State and the family of Suleiman Muhammed as he drowned in a pound located in the Wailari
quarter.
Saminu Abdullahi, the PRO of the Kano State
Fire Service disclosed the sad news on Wednesday, September 14th. He
said that the said incident occurred on Tuesday Afternoon.
"We received an
emergency call at about 03:47 p.m. from one Muhammed Salisu and we sent our
rescue team to the scene at about 03:56 p.m," he said.

He further revealed that the teenager was
brought out of the water unconscious and was later pronounced dead.
According to Mr. Abdulahi, the corpse of the
17-year-old boy has been handed over to the ward head of Wailari Quarters,
Magaji Adamu.
The cause of the death was ascribed to “Local
swimming” by the deceased.
