18-Year-Old Boy Kills Brother Over Money Made From Realized From Sale Of Their Fathers Land
In Dedza Malawi, an
18-year-old boy has been arrested for killing his elder brother over money
realized from the sale of their father's land. The alleged murderer Sadduki Matewere of Njonja Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kachere in Dedza is accused
of killing his brother Joseph Matewe so that he could add his brother's share
to his own and take all.
The Deputy
Publicist of Dedza police station Cassim Manda who confirmed the incident on Thursday,
November 11 said that the father of the two brothers had two wives and was
living in Chiradzulu . Unfortunately, he died leaving behind a piece of land
for his family.
After the piece of
land was sold by both families, the money was taken to the District Commissioner
(DC) office in Chiradzulu for proper sharing.
"We have been told Sadduki Matewere being the last born
was given K580,000 while his elder brother Joseph Matewere was given K350,000,”
he explained.
After coming out of
the DC office, Sadduki`s mother gave Joseph K150,000 and also gave Saduki
K50,000.
This single act
annoyed Sadduki and he plotted to kill his brother Joseph so that he can have
all the money to himself.
At midnight,
Sadukki chased away his two brothers who were in the house and attacked joseph.
After the attack, the victim was taken to Dadza Hospital where he was later
referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital where he died after receiving treatment.
The police have
arrest Sadduki Matewrer and recovered all the tools he used to kill his
brother. Sadukki has admitted to killing his brother.
